FOE EXHIBITIONS.

SPLENDID ENTRIES RECEIVED. At the Hawera Winter Show which opened to-day there tire many line exhibitions including- Government display of marketing board posters, novelties, etc. There is a special display of marketing abord posters, a dairy board exhibit, and also displays by tiie home control board, State Forest service, Department of Agritulture, Tourist Department, and Department of Industries and Commerce. The Publicity Department is screening several motion pictures dealing with its activities. A tour of inspection of the show something of interest at almost every turn. All spac- available has been utilised, and the class of displays is for the most part, novel and highly interesting, commencing with the striking scene presented on entering the main hall. Competitive classes have received very good support this year, and the displays of dairy produce, fruits of the boys' and girls' root-growing competitions, school children's work, photography, fancywork, sewing, cookery, poultry, are all of considerable interset. The Show will continue to run for a week, during which many attractions have been arranged, including a window-dressing competition, a special day for children, two representative Rugby matches, and special musical programmes, PRIZE AWARDS.
