BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS
TO BE HELD IN STRATFORD. A conference of representatives of the Taranaki Boxing Association and the. Stratford Sports and Pastimes Club was held at Stratford hist night. There were present: Messrs J. W. B. Jones (chairman), P. Skoglund, J. W. Aitken, A. E. Ea/.ackcrley, W. Brown and 0. S. Harvey (secretary), representing the Sports and Pastimes Club, an apology being received for the absence of the. president, Mr R. Masters, and Messrs J-, Horlor, J. Garcia, C. E. Roebuck, T. Campbell, V. S. Pruden, Searle, A. E. Mills and li .tiger, representing the Taranaki Boxing Association. A welcome was extended to the New Plymouth representatives by the chair-
man Mr Garcia, in 'acknowledging, stated that the Taranaki Association was favourable to the championships being held at Stratford. There was gJod talent in Taranaki, which already possessed two Now Zdiland championships, and it was considered that an endeavour should be made to send a full team from Taranaki to the New Zealand championship meeting at Auckland in August. The profits from the championship meeting in Taitaiaki should be devoted towards paying the expenses of the team He moved that the Taranaki championships be. held in Stratford on July 27th and 28th. This was seconded by Mr Brown, and carried unanimously. Three selectors were appointed to select the representative team. Ihey were Messrs A. Nelson (Stratford), G E.
