Twenty-one bombing planes were night flying *rom Nancy to X,e L'ourgct when, between midnight and 3 a.m., a sudden storm struck tho formation in tho neighbourhood l of Phris. Only four reached Le Bourget. A fifth, carrying "four men, crashed at the edge of tho aerodrome, but the occupants were uninjured. A twin motor plane capsized on landing near Meaux. The machine was destroyed, but the crew escaped. Lieut. Picard's plane overturned. His pilot had ,a paraclnvte and descended safely. Picard had n 0 parachute and had to remain in the machine, which crashed, and he was killed. Four planes were damaged on landing towards Belauvais and Chantilly. —Australian Press Association.
