SUCCESSFUL CAMP CONCLUDED.

The Queen Alexandra’s Mounted Rilles left camp this morning after a very period.

In conversation with one of the officers an Evening Post representative was informed that this had been the best “mounted” camp yet held in New Zealand. This was borne out by the G'.O.C.’s remarks and those of experienced mounted rifle officers.

With the exception of two days the weather conditions were excellent. The numebr of visitors to the camp was indicated .by the fact • that on visitors’ day 300 motor carm were admtted. ~ The Q.A.M.R. Bdiß the champio n military band, of jsivw. Zealand was, in attendance. Speaking of the tactical exercises. Col. Commandant White, who commanded the Wellington Moulited Rifles in Palestine, said he wished to;f remark on the excellence and the high standard of efficiency shown by the Q.A.M.R. The work last year was very good, but this year it was even better. COMPETITIONS. The Champion Sauadron Cup was won by Headquarters Squadron (Hawera and Toko). ,;The cup for best-turned-out man in the regiment also went to the Headquarters Squadron. The Troop Cup was won hy “A” Squadron, Wanganui. " , Trucking commenced at 5 a.m. this morning, and the troops [passed through Stratford at mid-day. The Te Weral, (Kpore, Huiroa,' 'Douglas and Toko units detrained at Stratford and later proceeded to their districts by the Toko train.
