TABLE TALK. Nearly all our wandering townspeople are returning, or have returned after holidays spent in different parts of New Zealand. Some are vjery sun burnt, looking as if they had had a really good rest! Even Mr McFootde seems To have caught isomo of the holiday feeling and shed some flies and many cares — imaginary of course in his case. Judging by the programmes one hears of, we will bo kept terribly busy with; f)nr various “Queens” till Jub_ i 100 Week. En ta in monks,’ uf all descriptions. and rumours of morel entertainments are floating around; Committees are busily meeting—at all times —discussing, this, that, and what are the host ways of collaring the other fellow’s illnsivo “saxpeuce”, each committee knowing that their queen is of course tlio only one that has a possible chance of ultimate crowning. How very unpopular our worthy Mayor will he wifTT the other two, as unfortunately only one candidate can roach the dizzy summit. The one thing to bo douej at the pre-

sent moment is to get right into it. I'Eli© street day on Tuesday promises to have some elements of fun about it any wav. Many new creations are being evolved for March with umbrallas to match in case of accidents. Can this glorious weather last and seo our Jubile© through without weather trouble!. _ . The Comedy Co. are in search of a really snappy farce, perhaps on the hues of the one played in the Town Hall a few nights ago. News of the impending departure of Rev. Father Cahill, who has relinquished the parish on account of jill-health, has been rechived with ivery sincere regret. During the time .he has been in Stratford he has, accomplished much splendid work, and endeared himself to all who know l.’him. The parishioners do not intend to permit him to depart without some token of their appreciation, 'and a. meeting is to be held in the school room after tha eleven 'o’clock Mass to-morrow to discuss the I'arrangements.
