For winter reading it would be hard to equal the warmth of laughter to be found in each issue of "Humour." Here is just one of the few hundred laughs in the latest issue: A country yokel is buying an engagement ring and puts the following anxious question to the jeweller: "Yes, I likes the diamond. 'un at five bob, but 'aven't you got any imitation uns cheaper like?" The result of the recent big competition is announced in "Humour' of June 11th. The cleverly humorous cover drawn by Mr M. Matthews, of Auckland, for the Jitine "Aussie" gives an indication of the wealth of humour to be found inside. This is the month of chilblains; but there is comfort even in chilblains, if you have a warmfire and a copy of "Aussie." One of the best contributions in this latest issue is a fine poem, "Days Agone," by Rod Quinn, also a swinging poem, "The Main Trunk Limited" caught our fancy in the New Zealand section. In picture, story and joke the latest issue of the popular monthly would be hard to beat. <■—a—iimiM wnmmmaau
