A MARINE MYSTERY

Mysterious marine disturbances were observed at Herbertville on Friday, occurring about four miles off the shore in the path of coastal sea traffic. Shortly before eight a huge volume, of water shot into the air about 200 feet. Another shot is reported to have occurred a few minutes later, .while a third but less spectacular one took place shortly after, 9 o’clock, the sea being subsequently discolored over a considerable area,, showing that, the ocean bed had been disturbed. The scene of the upheavals is about three miles south of Cape Turnagain.- About an hour later a coastal steamer passed over the spot.
