POISON IN METAL POLISH

As the result of recent, Supreme Court proceedings regarding t!ie sole of a highly poisonous metal polish known as Avo, K. .1. Hritiaiu, storekeeper, was charged at tin? Police Court with having sold a pernicious preparation containing prussic acid. Senior-Sergeant Rawle stated that the liquid polish had been declared to he deadly poison and vendors had been warned not to sell their stocks. Upon ana P'S is the preparation was found to contain cyanide of polas-

sium and prussic acid. One teaspoonful of tin liquid constituted a fati<l dose. The defence wa.s that notic of the dangerous nature of the polish had not been received by rotadei's who had stocks. A fine of X!2 was inflicted.
