CAPSIZE OF LAUNCH. I*er Preas Association. Auckland, Last Night. A narrow escape from a' serious accident occurred at Auckland on Saturday night, when the small launch Lenore was sunk and the occupants thrown, into the water. About 8 p.m., when the Le'nore, with Mr. Hayson (owner) and his wife and brother on board, was passing the steamer Marama, anchored in the stream, a steward on the steamer hailed, the launch and asked for a. passage ashore. \ Mir. Hayson ran the launch alongside the steamer, when about a dozen of the Mamma's crew jumped on board the launch, which capsized and sunk, "throwing all the occupants into the water. A boat was lowered from the Maramai and the people in the water were rescured with difficulty. The launch hag not been recovered yet.
