THE AIR CONFERENCE.

The eleventh annual conference of the New. Zealand Journalists' Association concluded at Christchurch to-day when delegates \rere. present from the four centres.._ - A motion was carried deep reglret at the death .of America's journalist President. The question of providing retiring allowances to newspaper employees was discussed, and it was decided to ask the co-operation of kindred organisations in"the newspaper trade.

- After hearing Mr A. J. Henderson, lecturer on Journalism at Canterbury College, who attended by invitation and explained the scope and intentions' of the gift of £3OOO made,.to the Canterbury College by Sir Robert Bell, and also the conditions necessary for the attainment of a diploma of Journalism, the Conference resolved to make "strong representations to the Government against the continued failure to pay a subsidy on the Bell Gift.

The retiring officers were re-elect-ed.'

It was decided that the headquarters remain at Christchurch.
