Farmer's Suicide
CARBONIC ACID POISONING.*

At an inquest on the body of William Goodwin, a well-known farmer who died yesterday morning as the result of carbolic acid poisoning, the coroner returned an open verdict. The evidence showed that deceased complained of sleeplessness due to influenza. He had financial worries with the farm and made his will on Wednesday. He bought pure carbolic acid on Wednesday, saying that It was for fontrot in sheep, hut he told the family it was for treating ringworm in calves. He left a note at the house on Thursday morning, saying he had gone to the road gate, where subsequently he was found unconscious.
