NEW PLYMOUTH TOURNAMENT. Following are 'the results of the aumament in New Plymouth on Saturday night :- Professional contest.—Paul Demsky (Wellington) 9.7 J beat Harry May (Auckland) 10.1 on points. AMATEURS. Bantam—Anderson (New Plymouth): 8.4 beat Collins/ (Stratford) 8.5. Light—Waterson (Toko) 10.3 beat Murray (New Plymouth) 10.5 on the fifth round. Welter—A. Duggan (Hawera) 10.5 beat J. D. Williams (New Plymouth) 10.4 on points over four rounds. Bantam.—R. Hay ward (Hawera) 8.9 boat James (New Plymouth) on a knock out in the fourth round. Feather—Ooombe (Oaonui) 8.12 and Whelan (Warea) 10.0 boxed a draw of four rounds.
Heavy—Flitzsimmons (Pihama) 12.7 beat Tounsett (Wanganui) 12.0 on the fifth round. At Blenheim. P. Vercoe knocked out Tim Slattery (Wellington) in the fourth round. F. Brougham beat H. Hobsono (Wellington) by a narrow margin over fou r rounds. Dwyer. (Wellington) beat W. Satherly in four rounds. At the Stadium (Sydney) Bobby Gray had an easy call over Barney Reubens (South African bantam champion), the referee stopping.the fight and awarding Gray the victory at the end of the fourth round.
At Melbourne, kilockod out de Silva in the seventh round of at lively contest.
