Members of tW Anzac Mounted Forces subscribed £5400 for the monument to their dead comrades at Port Said. The Australian Government contributed £BOOO and the New Zealand Government has given £2OOO, the total cost of the memorial boinp; estimated at £16,000. Designs were invited from Australian and NewZealand architects and sculptors. t The first prize winner (250 guineas) was Mr O. W. frilbert, of Melbourne, the second (100 guineas) Mrs J. L.
