A Brute at Bay
ESCAPEE ATTACKS PURSUERS. SAVAGELY USES KNIEE. Per Press Association Auckland, August 16. At Mount Albert yesterday afternoon,' a constable was taking a man who had been arrested on a charge of interfering with boya to the police station when the man escaped. Two young men joined iu the chase and the prisoner was rounded up in a paddock. It is alleged he drew a large pocket knife and savagely attacked both young men, one being injured above the knee and the other on the hand, but neither seriously. Accused eventually was removed to a police cell at Auckland.
