At Rock Springs, Wyoming, rescue workers saved thirty-five miners from an exploded mine, wherein danger had originally not been suspected since no detonations were heard when the underground structure collapsed. Meanwhile hundreds of women and children are waiting at the mouth of the mino for word from 103 still bolioved to bo entombed. Red Cross workers are assisting the stricken householders. A later message states that 214 miners are reported to b" entombed. The mine is three-quarters of a mile underground. Rescue cars from three neighbouring points are proceeding rapidly to the scene of the disaster, the details whereof are &till meagre.
