ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting and social in connection with the Stratford! Prohibition League was held at. the Methodist Schoolroom last nijAt. There was a small but representative attendance. Mr N. H. Moss presided,, and was supported by Mr J. Malton Murray, of the New' Zealand Alliance. Wellington. Peun; executive, Mesdaaies E. Tichbon, J. McAllister, 0. D. Sole, McCaiium, llevs. J. W. McKenzie, L. i>. Neaie, Ensign itansom, Messrs J. McAllister, D. N. McMillan, B. Sturm, D. M. Clarke, E. Hills, J. H. Thompson, R. V. Kay, J. H. Hopkins; ares wuncil representatives, Messrs J. McAllister and N. H Moss. Mr Murray, who is a forceful speaker, then addressed the gathering at length on the question of corporate control; the proposed introduction of liquor into the King Country and the reasons for the advocacy of the two issues—Continuance and Prohib.tion—n connection with the political question before the electors. At the close refreshments were served by the ladies and were much appreciated.
