CLAIM FOR POSSESSION. At tlie Magistrate's Court yesterday, Alfred N. Lester (Mr Kay) claimed £9 4s 4d from Alexander MeMeekan, for arrears of rent. S. G. Cathro, law clerk, gave evidence that notice to quit had been served on McMeekan in February last. Plaintiff gave evidence that he was the owner of premises at Midhirst occupied by defendant. The. last arrangement was for a weekly rental of 30s, payable in advance, witness required the pemises for his own pu'poses, and wanted them as early as possible. In conversation, defendant said he was ag-ceable to leave the premises provided witness could find a purchaser for his plant..
