August 10. William John Davidson, alias Robert Wallace, Albert Dempsey, John Milsdu and Bob Ryan, • who was arrested for false pretences in this district, appeared in court to-day, when he was charged with false pretences in the Frankton and Whangarei districts. The police explained that Davidson was an habitual criminal, and was released in February on license. Accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. The magistrate said ’accused would in any case"have to go back to prison and be at the disposal of the Prisons jßoard. Tlirr-": August 10.
