According to a message from Montreal, the Canadian Manufacturers Association has* launched a campaign for the protection of Canadian industry, demanding an increased tariff on finished goods. The Association points out that since the war the Canadian tariff has been reduced four times; therefore, she has, little to gain by bargaining' for preferences. Tho association asserts that preferential arrangements should be made,, preferably with the British Dominions, hut only after the tariff has been substantially increased.
