THE ANTI-CHURCH CAMPAIGN. ARRESTS IN GEORGIA. (Times Service.) (Received 9.55 a.m.) Berlin, May 1. ' The Bolshevik anti-church campaign was furthered in Georgia, where the head of the Catholic Church was imprisoned, together with eighty to ninety per cent, of the entire priesthood in the province. Armed Cheka agents scoured the whole country requisitioning church treasures. The churches were turned into communist clubs despite the opposition of the population. JEWS SUPPORT TROTSKtf. Trotsky is bidding seriously for the dictatorship of the Sovie*, He is supported by the Jewish elements, who form an overwhelming majority of prominent Communists. Nevertheless anti-Semitism is becoming more and more threatening, invading the Communist 'ranks.-Trotsky's ambitions are forcing Krassin, Tchltcherin and others Into opposition factions containing no Jews and crystallising the Communists into two distinct camps—Jews and non-Jews. The Jews control the Cheka and the army. There are.constant war scares, but it Is believed war is the last thing Trotsky wants, as it will almost inevitably lead to the total collape of the communist regime.
