The German reply to the Allies’ Note regarding the Peace protocol has been received.
The German newspapers state that the tone of the reply is conciliatory and accedes to all the demands, with reservations regarding Scapa Flow, and it adds that the surrender of docks and material will paralyse Germany.

The New York Times’ Washington message says leading Democratic Senators point out that President Wilson’s announcement that he will not consider further any Treaty compromise is unfortunate, ; since it will undoubtedly strengthen! the’ opponents of the Treaty. There are strong indications, however, that both Republicans and Democrats, will continue their efforts' fdr compromise despite the President’s announcement.

•The Morning Post states that the conference in London is not a continuation of the Supremo Council sittings, but a special Anglo-French conference owing to the United States’ -attitude. It is understood the conference has reached political and economic agreements amounting to almost an AnglorFrench alliance
