FOOTBALL.
At Victoria Park yesterday in the first match of the competitions locally, the Stratford District High School team defeated Stratford B. team by six points to nil. Thorpe and Arms, with a try each, were the scorers for the School. Mr-N. Kivell controlled the game satisfactorily. The match was played under arduous conditions the ground being very sloppy and the rain continual, with occasional sleet.. On account of the unfavorable state of the weather yesterday, the football matches at New Plymouth between the Boys’ High School anu Technical College and between the two High School junior teams were post polled. At Waitara yesterday. New Plymouth Rovers met and defeated Glif-. ton by 1-t points to 3.
