FOOD PRICES IN SYDNEY. [United Psa»» Ahrociatidn J Sydney, June 18. A proclamation fixes the wholesale prices of Cumberland and Northumberland bran at £8 IU S and pollard at £9 a ton. Elsewhere bran is 50s and pollard 60s above the local prices ob--1 tabling in September. The price of butter, boxed first grade, is fixed at 149 s -Id, second grade at 144 s 4d, and third gradelat 139 s 4d, and retail twoI pence per lb above the wholesale price. ONE OF SYDNEY’S CRIMES. Sydney, June 18. George Caspar Watson has been committed' for trial on a charge of murdering Mrs Pocock. (Early in May the body of Mrs Pocock was found in Prince Alfred Park. There were signs of terrible ill-treat-ment, recalling the notorious Mount Rennie outrage. The body was identified as that of the wife of a chimney sweep named Pocock. He states his wife was in the habit of absenting herself for days together).
