CARNIVAL AT INGLEWOOD

Tin* fact that the swimming season is just about finished was indicated at the carnival held at Inglewood last night. The weather was on the chilly side, though the water was warm; but the cold weather kept the attendance of the public very low. Stratford was represented by a good number of swimmers and a remarkably large number of spectators. Cecil Kivell won tiie 75yds and 150 yds open races. Miss Hignott was second in the 50yds ladies’ race and dead-heated for first place in the ladies’ dive. Whittington and Kelly filled the places in the 50yds breast stroke race, beating the only other starter, a small Inglewood lad, very handsomely. j Cecil Kivell, Lister, Brady, Hoid and Whittington constituted the Stratford polo team, Curtis and Dewar playing for Inglewood. Stratford showed much improved form. Goals were scored for Stratford by Kivell and Lister. Ingle- ? [wood failed to score at ail.
