148 PATIENTS IN WAIPIATA
FIGURES UP TO END OF JULY
At the end of July the associated hospital boards had a total of _ 148 patients in the Waipiata sanatorium, according to a report presented by the secretary at the monthly meeting of the sanatorium committee. Seventy-four of these patients came from Southland, 37 from South Canterbury, five from Ashburton, 14 from Waitaki, seven from South Otago, nine from Vincent and two from Maniototo. The secretary stated in his report that since the last meeting 13 patients from .three hospital districts had been discharged and there was a waiting list of one patient from the South Canterbury district. A statement submitted by the treasurer showed that at June 30 there was a credit balance of £9115, which included an amount invested on fixed deposit for capital works hot yet begun.
