OHAI NOTES
ONE-ACT PLAYS.—A programme of one-act plays in aid of the primary school funds was staged in the Ohai Town Hall by the Ohai Drama Group recently organized by Mr Worthington, of Otago University. Approximately £24 was raised by sale of tickets. One play was also given by the Otautau Drama Club. The plays and casts were:—“Heaven on Earth,” Laura Hubbard (Mrs A. McLean), Jill Hubbard (Miss R. Colligan), Ellen (Miss C. J. Crow), Adrian Illidge (G. Welch), Ernest Hubbard (A. McLean); “Far, Far Away,” cook (Mrs E. Keast), kitchenmaid (Miss M. J. Moseley), Mrs Consedine (Miss Govan), Miss Grimwade (Mrs R. Bird), parlour maid (Miss M. Lewis), Nancy (Miss J. Mills); “Orange Blossoms” (Otautau Drama Club), Mrs Duckworth (Miss W. Mills), Mr Duckworth (Dr W. B. Reekie), Aunt Lola (Miss M. Saxelby), Aunt Lottie (Mrs F. Thomson), Glad Duckworth (Mrs F. Insall), Amy Foster (Mr K. McDonald), Fred Ashworth (D. ’W. Bews); “After the Tempest,” Major Tory Manners (R. Kelly), Lady Marten (Miss C. J. Crowe), the Hon. Prudence Marten (Miss M. J. Moseley), the Hon. Freddie Fitzraine (C.. Kelly Nova, a young airwoman (Miss J. Mills). CLOTHING FOR EUROPE.— The recent appeal for clothing for Europe was successful, good quantities of excellent clothing being received at the depot. The Ohai Women’s Institute conducted the clothes drive.
