APPRENTICE KILLED

Electric Shock Suffered (P.A. ) AUCKLAND, April 6. As a result of an electric shock William Paul Flynn, aged 18, of Ellerslie, was killed at an engineering works in Stanley street early this morning. Flynn, who was an engineering apprentice to George Fraser and Sons, was on night shift with the foreman of the works. At 3.30 a.m. he went to anothexpart of the shop to get a steel plate, using an electric light extension to look for the plate. He apparently slipped, falling against a planing machine and breaking the electric light bulb, as a result of which his hand came in contacbwith the live, wires and he suffered a fatal shock. Later he was missed by the foreman, who searched, but failed to find him until daylight.
