FACTS ABOUT SOUTHLAND
Sir, In your report of the Chamber of Commerce function I am credited with saying in effect, “that if the people up north knew of our mild climate they would come south.” What I actually said, in emphasizing the wonderful productivity and potential wealth of Southland, was that “if the people outside of Southland knew these facts, instead of a ‘drift to the north,’ there would be a ‘rush to the south.’ ” P.
