GROWTH OF FIRM OVER 40 YEARS
GEORGE POOLE AND SONS To mark the completition of extensions to their premises in Yarrow street, the firm of George Poole and Sons, Ltd., entertained the staff and friends at a social and dance last evening. r The function was held in the new building, portion of which had been decorated with greenery and flags and the floor specially prepared for dancing. The growth of the firm over 40 years from very small beginnings to the occupation of the present building, which covered 22,000 square feet, exclusive of storerooms, offices, and so on, was outlined by Mr A. V. Poole, manager of the firm. The firm held the controlling interests in two sawmills and the supply of raw materials was assured, he said. Harvey, S. Knight, G. Elder and W. McKinnon); The Ladies (Messrs H. Bridson and A. Lodge); Entertainers and Press (Mr C. Poole).
