PENICILLIN'S FUTURE USES
(Rec. 12.5 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 15. When pencillin went on the market for general use it might go into toothpastes and lipsticks—anywhere it could get at microbes, said its discoverer, Sir Alexander Fleming, in a lecture on penicillin. It was sure to be used by multitudes of people for minor infections of throat, nose and mouth which were nearly all caused by microbes sensitive to penicillin, he said. The task was to get the penicillin to the microbes and it might be done with a simple spray, snuff or lozenges.
