FIGHTER CRASHES ON FARM

SERGEANT PILOT KILLED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, November 5. When a Royal New Zealand Air Force fighter aircraft crashed on a farm at Himatangi near Foxton today the pilot, who was on an aerobatic training flight from Ohakea, was filled. The aircraft dived into the ground near some cowsheds. The victim was:—

Sergeant Stephen Hartley Samuel Webster; mother, Mrs T. S. Webster, Hamilton.

Sergeant Webster, who was aged 20, entered the R.N.Z.A.F. from the Air Training Corps in October 1942. Before his enlistment he was an apprentice engineer. He attended the Hamilton Technical College.
