FOR EXTRACTING SALT FROM SEAWATER

(Rec 10 p.m.) TORONTO, June 27. A local war factory, collaborating with a naval research unit, designed a device for the extraction of salt from seawater by freezing it. The machine is at present too heavy to be carried in other than regulation lifeboats. It will withstand any weather and is not affected by immersion in seawater. The machine is hand operated and is so simple that a child could use it.
