Mr Jordan Visits Station (Special Correspondent, N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, September 30. The High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan, during a visit to Scotland, went to a Coastal Command training station where New Zealanders are learning to fly Beauforts and other types. He met Wing-Commander V. C. Darling, who is succeeding Wing-Commander J. Brown as commanding officer of the New Zealand torpedo-bomber squadron. They are both Englishmen. Mr Jordan also met Squadron Leader J. S. Dinsdale, D.F.C., of Te Kuiti, who is an instructor, and Pilot Officers N. R. Crompton (Christchurch), W. H. C. Tombs (Christchurch), T. H. Davidson (Rotorua), R. H. Richardson (New Plymouth), M. C. Thorburn (Auckland) and J. S. Newcomb (Auckland), and Sergeants A. H. Knowstubb (Dunedin), R. M. Brown (Dunedin), D. L. White (Gisborne), I. C. Riddell (Wellington), E. F. Johnson, C. N. Palmer, J. T. Stoele and W. O. Tuck (all of Auckland), A. C. Smart (Cromwell), D. G. Simes (Shannon), R. M. Robinson (Waihi), J. J. Connor (Christchurch), and D. Whitworth (Christchurch), some of whom will probably be posted to the New Zealand torpedo-bomber squadron when they have completed their course. Mr Jordan also called on General Sir Charles Fergusson, a former GovernorGeneral, and met Mr J. R. Lookie, of Wellington, who is now clerk to the Ayr County Council. Mr Jordan intended to fly across Scotland to see the torpedo-bomber squadron, but the weather was unfavourable.
