BOROUGH OF SOUTH INVERCARGILL
The South Invercargill Borough Council at its meeting last night decided to appoint a councillor to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Cr W. F. Young at the next meeting of the council. It was decided to support the health stamp appeal and purchase £1 worth of stamps. The foreman reported that all roads in the borough had been surfaced and were in good order. Cr D. Harris mentioned the wild growth of gorse in paddocks bordering the Kew road and said it was unfair to those ratepayers who had kept their properties clear of the weed. It was decided to take action against offenders.
