VICHY RESISTANCE ON MADAGASCAR
(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 26. Paris radio announced that M. Annet, Vichy Governor-General of Madagascar, had established new headquarters at Port Dauphin, on the East Coast of Madagascar near the island’s southern extremity. M. Annet had not given in. Orders for the resistance would now be issued from there. . The following communique was issued by the general officer commanding, East Africa: “Since the occupation of Antananarivo one of our columns moved eastward out of the capital to make contact with our troops advancing from Brickaville, whose leading elements yesterday reached Moramanga.
