OBITUARY

MR FRANCIS LEDINGTON The death occurred recently of Mr Francis Ledington, of Invercargill. Mr Ledington was bom at Wolverhampton, England, in 1866 and at the age of seven he came to New Zealand with his family and lived at Lochiel. For a number of years he was manager of the Broadlands and Northope estates. In 1913 he purchased a farm at Spar Bush and in 1922 he bought another farm known as “Stirling Park" at Lochlei. He continued fanning until 1938, when he came to Invercargill to live. Mr Ledington was a member of the Lochiel School Committee, a director of the Northope Dairy Factors* Company, a member of the Winton River Board, and a member of the West Winton River Board. He married Miss Ada Jefferies in 1898 and he is survived by his wife and a family of seven— Mr G. Ledington (Lochiel), Privates B. Ledington. A. Ledington and C. Ledington. Mrs R. H. Thomson (Invercargill), Mrs W. Everett (Christchurch), and Mrs T. Stevens (Awarua).
