LOSS OF RIGHT HAND
(P.A.) DANNEVIRKE, May 28. Through an accident caused by an explosion, Sergeant J. S. Stephens, of Miramar, Wellington, had his right hand blown off during a military display at Dannevlrke promoted to assist the sale of Liberty Bonds. H-- was on top of the De Luxe Theatre at the time of the occurence. It is understood he was taking part in the display. He was admitted to hospital suffering from shock.
