WOMEN CONDUCTORS—Discussing the employment of women conductors on trams, the chairman of the Auckland Transport Board. Mr J. Sayegh, said that about 40 women were completing their training and would be on the trams next week. The majority were the wives of tramway employees on active service. They would receive the same wages and comply with the same conditions as men.—P.A.
