RAILWAY CLERK’S DEATH

(P.A.) DUNEDIN, May 27. Richard George John Wilson, chief clerk in the district railway engineer’s office, aged 55, single, collapsed and died in the Savoy building last evening. He was very well known in the service throughout the Dominion. He came here from Wellington in 1940 and served in the last war. PEDESTRIAN KILLED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 27. Struck by a motor-car which did not stop after the accident, Anthony Sutherland, aged about 44, a moulder, was killed when walking along the main road at Tawa Flat last night. The police immediately began a search for the car, but late last night it had not been found.
