Inter-Club Matches Played Inter-club cricket matches in all grades were played in Invercargill on Saturday afternoon. The wickets were in fairly good order, but there was a strong wind blowing from the north-west GOOD WIN FOR UNlON— Union obtained a win over I.C.C. by an innings and 48 runs. I.C.C. took first strike and made only 26, R. Mainwarring being the only player to reach double figures. Marshall was in form with the ball and took seven wickets for 19 runs. In its innings Union did not start well, but scores of 40 by C. Dixon and 24 by Marshall increased the score considerably and when the innings was declared for six wickets the board showed the score to be 127. I.C.C. was given a second innings, but again the team did not score very freely. The 63 runs compiled came slowly, the best scorers being Mainwarring and Johnson, who hit up 10 and 15 respectively. Bowling for Union, Marshall took six for 21 WIN FOR OLD BOYS.— OId Boys beat Marist by 81 runs on the first innings. In its innings Marist made 92 and Old Boys replied with 173 for seven declared. Marist in its second innings made 101. Old Boys went in with three minutes left and one over to play, but failed by four to get the required 21 runs for an outright win. WIN FOR BLUFF.— Bluff, 106 for three wickets (declared), beat Appleby-Railway, 100, by six runs on the first innings. For Bluff Burtenshaw made 44 not out, and Ayson 42. For Appleby-Railway Morrison scored 25, Loose 23, Bryant 17 and Agnew 10. Bowling for Bluff Mclvor took eight for 33 and Parry one for 20. For ApplebyRailway Morrison took three for 31 and Ingram one for 24. JUNIOR A.— Borstal, 189, won by an innings and three runs from Old Boys, 52 and 34. Waikiwi, 130 (A. Kingsland 83 not out) beat Union, 93 (McMillan 62 not out) by 37 runs. For Waikiwi L. Kingsland took three wickets for 16 runs and for Union Joblin took four for 16. THIRD GRADE—High School A, 195, beat 1.C.C., 108, by an innings and 87 runs. The best scorers for High School were McLeod 95, Skelt 27, McCrostie 22 and Lilley 13. For I.C.C. Wills made 16, E. Maley 15 and 11 and Murray 14. Bowling for the winner Price took five for 5 and three for 19 and Myers secured two for 4 and two for 6. For I.C.C. Gilchrist took six for 23, including the hat trick. High School B, 133, beat Appleby-Railway, 63, by an innings and 70 runs. For High School Forbes made 47, Noble 19 and Bennett 15 and Forbes took eight for 9, Murray four for 5, and Rees one for 8. For Appleby-Railway Lindsay made 20. Baker 8 and Robertson 6 and Connelly took one for 14, Geddes one for ; 15 and Fraser two for 14. OTHER CENTRES CHRISTCHURCH.— Scoring 86 yesterday, W. A. Hadlee, the Canterbury and New Zealand representative, passed the thousand mark in club cricket this season. His score is now 1018. This is only the third time such a feat has been accomplished, the last occasion being the 1924-25 season when R. C. Blunt scored 1071. The year before F. Woods made 1006. There are four more rounds to go.
