Banks street, Invercargill, has received advice that her brother, Harold, has been killed in j action while serving on an Australian hospital ship. He leaves a wife who lives in Sydney. Mr and Mrs W. McGill, Fairfield street, Gore, have received private advice that their son, Driver J. J. McGill, died as a prisoner of war in hospital in Crete. Mr and Mrs J. McHardy, Woodlands, have received advice that their son, Private James McHardy, who was previously reported missing, is now a prisoner of war in Italy. Private Martin Ryan, who was recently stated to be a prisoner of war, has never been reported missing, nor has he been reported a prisoner. He came through the Libyan campaign without harm. Advice has been received by Mr and Mrs Somer Laurie, Tuatapere, that their son, Private Douglas Laurie, is safe and well after being in Bardia. Advice has been received by Mrs R. Buddle, 21 George street, that her husband, Private Alan Buddle, who was reported missing, is now a prisoner of war. Mr and Mrs E. J. Weir, Orepuki, have been officially notified that their son, Corporal Stanley James Weir, is a prisoner of war. Corporal Weir served in Greece, Crete and Libya. Mr and Mrs D. McKenzie, of Lyttelton, and late of Earn street, Invercargill, have received advice that their son, Private M. W. McKenzie, previously reported missing, is now a prisoner of war.

Mr T. F. Rusbridge, Trafford street, Gore, has been advised that his son, Private Ross Rusbridge, is a prisoner of war.
