SUCCESS OF COLLEGE SHOOTING TEAM

Satisfaction at the success of the Southland Technical College shooting team in winning the Weekly Press Challenge Shield for the South Island was expressed at the monthly meeting of the Technical College board last night. The principal, Mr C. A. Stewart, reported that the team of 15 boys won the shield and gained second place for the Dominion. It was proposed to have the shield, with the medals for the team members, presented at a special parade to be held as soon as possible. Thanks were due to Sergeant-Major Sutton, of the Army Staff, for his good work in coaching the boys. The report stated that the usual barracks were held from February 9 to February 13 at the showgrounds.
