LARGE STONE BROUGHT FROM WAIKOUAITI

A large slab of Italian stone, measuring about 6ft by 3ft by 2ft, and weighing several tons, was an interesting item of salvage brought in from the Waikouaiti wreck in the Marina yesterday. A diver said that there were several other similar slabs in No. 1 hold, where he is at present working. Ingots of lead and zinc were also brought in yesterday. On Monday a long steel girder was salvaged. The diver stated that the water was still dirty from the recent river floods.
