WEDDING

BLACK HAUGH

At St. Andrew’s Hall, Gore, the wedding took place on November 13 of Eleanor Georgina, only daughter of Mr James L. Haugh, Dunedin, and the late Mrs Haugh, to Duncan Samuel Alister, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. Black, “Laguna,” Otara. The Rev. Fraser B. Barton was the minister, and Miss Johnson was at the organ. The church was decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr John Haugh, Gore, wore a marina blue ensemble trimmed with matching braid, a summer felt hat, and shoes to match. She carried a bouquet of tulips, roses and lily-of-the-valley. Miss Maisie Fordyce, a friend of the bride, was ' bridesmaid, wearing a cyclamen frock with a rucked bodice, worn with a black hat. Her bouquet was of tulips and roses. The best man was Mr Keith Black, youngest brother of the bridegroom. At the reception, which was held at “Craig Dhu,” the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs John Haugh, the guests were received by Mrs J. Haugh, and Mrs Jamieson, sister of the bridegroom. Before her marriage the bride was guest of honour at a gift afternoon given by the Wallacetown W.D.F.U., and at a supper party given by Mrs R. S. Vercoe and Mrs John Paul in the Savoy, Dunedin. A presentation was also made by the Wallacetown P.W.M.U. Mi’ and Mrs D. S. A. Black will live at “Laguna,” .Otara.
