GREAT WAR FUNDS COMMITTEE
The monthly meeting of the executive. of the Great War Funds Administrative Committee of the Joint Council of the Order of St. John and New Zealand Red Cross Society was held in Invercargill on Tuesday. Mrs H. H. Petrie presided. Several applications for assistance were dealt with. The members reported having visited the Southland hospitals fortnightly, there being at present 14 returned soldier patients under treatment. The Rev. W.- J. Robertson visited the Southland hospitals every alternate fortnight, distributing tobacco and sweets on behalf of the executive.
Complimentary passes were forwarded to ex-servicemen by the Southland Trotting and Racing Clubs and were very much appreciated by the returned soldier patients.
