BAY OF PLENTY SEAT

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 19. The secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party announces that Mr Charles Mills, J.P., has been selected to contest the Bay of Plenty seat at the by-election on behalf of the Labour Party. He is a returned soldier, having served three years overseas in the last war, and has a long record of public service in the Bay of Plenty. Until recently he lived in Tekaraka, where for 17 years he was a successful business man and dairy farmer. He recently entered business at Gisborne, but still retains farming interests in Tekaraka. He is 47, married, and has five children.
