ANNUAL MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The annual meeting of the executive of the Southland Girl Guides’ Association was held yesterday when Mrs J. G. Macdonald, the provincial commissioner, presided over a good attendance of members. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: President, Mrs R. Burns Watson (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mesdames J. L. McG. Watson, W. Hinchey, F. G. Hall-Jones, A. C. Ford, R. J. Gilmour, W. A. Ott, A. Derbie (Invercargill), R. M. Gilmour (Winton), R. Hutton (Mataura), A. Chisholm (Otautau), A. Cook (Nightcaps), H. Hunter (Wyndham), F. S. Graham (Gore), C. H. Gordon and D. C. Robertson (Riverton), Miss Woods (Riversdale), all re-elected; Provincial Commissioner, Mrs J. G, Macdonald (reelected); executive committee, Mesdames J. G. Macdonald, H. A. Brumby, G. R. Milward, C. E. Watts, R. Pollok, L. Hodge, G. H. Uttley, J. R. Hanan (Invercargill), H. Sutherland (Mataura), C. W. Rout (Wyndham), R. Robertson (Waikaia), R. Fisher (Gore), J. B. Watt (Makarewa), W. Excell (Nightcaps) and all division and district commissioners; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mrs A. C. Dickens (reelected); honorary equipment secretary, Mrs H. A. Brumby (re-elected); honorary badge secretary, Mrs G. H. Uttley; honorary auditors, Webb and Stark.

Mrs Macdonald, in the course of her address, commented on the small number of guiders. It was upon them the success of the movement depended, she said. On display was a sample of a camouflage net which is being made by the Girl Guides of Invercargill.
