CHRISTMAS PARCELS FOR BRITAIN
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, November 14. “New Zealanders have done much to gladden the hearts of relations and friends in the United Kingdom during Christmas,” said the Postmaster-Gen-eral, the Hon. P. C. Webb, commenting on the fact that more than 100 tons of foodstuffs were posted in gift parcels for civilians during October. This quantity was contained in 55,000 parcels and from the description of the contents on the covers it was evident that the most popular gift items were tea, butter, cheese, jam, cake and puddings.
