HON. D.G. SULLIVAN TO GIVE ADDRESS
DOMINION CONFERENCE OF CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE An address will be delivered by the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) at the conference of the Associated Chambers ot Commerce on the afternoon of the opening day, Thursday, November 6. This announcement was made by the president of the Invercargill Chambei (Mr J. N. Armour) at the meeting of the council which was held yesterday. Mr Armour traversed the arrangements which had been made for the conference and for the entertainment of delegates and their wives. Delegates would be welcomed by the Mayor (Mr J. R. Martin) On the morning of November 6. The conference would be opened by the president of the Associated Chambers (Mr Gordon Fraser) and delegates would be welcomed on behalf of the Invercargill Chamber by Mr W. M. C. Denham, M.P., and by himself. The conference would be continued that evening and on Friday, on the evening of which the delegates and their wives would be the guests of the Invercargill Chamber at Elmwood Garden. The secretary (Mr A. L. Adamson) said there promised to be a full busload for the Te Anau and Homer Tunnel trip which would be undertaken on the Saturday and Sunday. Mr Adamson said that among the official visitors, in addition to Mr Sullivan, would be Mr J. L. Menzies, acting Trade Commissioner for Australia, and Mr L. J. Schmitt, secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce.
