Changeable And Showery (Special) WELLINGTON. October 23. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Strong squally west to south-west winds; the weather changeable and showery; temperatures cold with some snow on the mountains. Further outlook: Cold and changeable. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was cold and stormy. Heavy rain and hail showers fell at intervals throughout the day and were accompanied by a strong wind. This morning at 1 o’clock the weather was cold and boisterous. There were occasionaFheavy showers and there was a strong wind from the west. The barometer reading was 29.38 in (rising).
